Alessia Cara

Her debut track Here was released in 2015. It received praise from music critics and listeners. The single peaked at 19th on both the Canadian Hot 100 as well as Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone called the song one of their Top Songs in the year 2015. The same year when she dropped Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful, one of her original five tracks featured on the Billboard Charts including Billboard Hot 100 in Canada as well as Billboard 200 for the Canadian Albums Charts. It was different because many people related to the conversation she conducted with rapper Rap-Up on her journey in learning to love and be her. Cara's songs contain messages of love as well as self-love and mental wellbeing. The inspiration for her music is derived from her own struggle to overcome mental health problems and insomnia. According to an Reuters Interview, her album has been described as a semi-tumultuous and half-perfected. She found that therapy has helped her develop and encourages other artists to follow the same path. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto, Canada. She was born on July 11, 1996 to parents with Italian origins. Her parents gifted her with a guitar when she was 10 years old, which ignited her love for music. In 2013, she covered the songs she loved for YouTube the most popular media platform. This was to demonstrate that she had the capability and the self-confidence to become an artist. Indeed one of the covers Sweater Weather was able to get her noticed by a record label called EP Entertainment which allowed her to write and create tracks.
