The debut single of hers was released in the year 2015. The song was widely acclaimed by both critics and the public. It reached number 19 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone called the track one of the Top Songs in the year 2015. The same year that she released Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful, one of her original five tracks that was featured in the Billboard Charts including Billboard Hot 100 in Canada as well as Billboard 200 for the Canadian Albums Charts. This particular track was special because it was based on an interview with Rap-Up many listeners were inspired by her story of self-doubt, and her journey to learn how to be a better person. Cara is famous for including songs about mental health, love and self-love into her music. The music that she has written comes from Cara's personal struggle to overcome mental health problems and insomnia. In an interview with Reuters she described her album as "half turbulent" and "half flawless". She says she grew through therapy, and encourages anyone else to seek out help when they need it. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on July 11th, 1996. Her parents gifted her with an instrument when she was just 10 years old. That was her first step musically. In 2013, she covered the songs she loved for YouTube which is a well-known media platform. This was to demonstrate that she had both the capability and the self-confidence to pursue a career as an artist. One of her covers, Sweater Weather, was the one that got her attention. EP Entertainment gave her an opportunity to develop and compose her own music.
