Simone Biles

Simone Biles is an American gymnast. Born on March 14, 1997 in Columbus, Ohio U.S.A. The 2016 Olympics were held at Rio de Janeiro and Biles became the U.S.'s only female gymnast ever to earn 4 gold medals. She also claimed the world title for all-around, three times in succession (2013-15). Biles grew up within Spring Texas in the Houston metropolitan area following the time her and her sister Adria received adoption by parents Ronald and Nellie Biles. Simone was introduced to the sport of gymnastics through her teacher at daycare Aimee Borman, when she was six years old. She stayed at Bannon's Gymnastix for 11 years. Biles was a winner in the vault and floor exercise at the women's Junior Olympic National Championships before moving up to the highest level of competition in 2011. Within two years, she dominated this event. Biles was notable because of her unstoppable performance enthusiastic attitude as well as the amount of challenge she made in each event--vault bar, uneven bars the balance beam, and the ground exercises.
