Coleman is Lancashire-born. She was a student at the Arnold School in Blackpool where she was head of the school and received straight A's on her A-levels. When discussing her character on Emmerdale, Coleman said that she regrets not having a conventional university experience. On the 21st March 2012, Doctor Who producer Steven Moffat announced at a press event that Coleman was set to play the role of the Doctor's friend alongside Matt Smith after Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill have left the show. Moffat selected her because of the way she worked with Smith and the fact that she had a faster speaking speed than him. In contrast, she's been much the most well-known TV actress as opposed to films. Eva is most well-known for her roles as Dr. Maria Santos on All My Children and as the detective Natalia Boa Vistas in CSI Miami. The actress was nominated two "Daytime Emmy Awards" in the role she played as well as having the opportunities to express her musical creativity. Eva is also a philanthropist, businesswoman and philanthropist. Eva is married to three men and has an infant from the third.
